The Press is very pleased to announce that the 2021 Poetry Contest is about to get underway. As in previous years, the prizes will once again be $500 and the Malovrh-Fenlon Poetry Prize for first, $300 for second, and $200 for third. Entries will be accepted up to the (postmark) deadline of April 30th.

We were thrilled with the participation in this year’s Poetry Contest. Despite the pandemic—perhaps to spite the pandemic—entries arrived from all across the country, and the quality of the poetry that came in truly lifted our spirits. Our sincere thanks to everyone who sent in an entry.

There was a very strong response to this year’s Poetry Contest, with hundreds of poems be submitted by poets from all across the country. The winners in this year’s Contest are:

1st Place: $500 and the Malovrh-Fenlon Poetry Prize, “The Power of Memory” by Glen Mazis of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania

2nd Place: $300, “Quenched” by Mary Ann Honaker of Beckley, West Virginia

3rd Place: $200, “All My Relations” by Gary Boelhower of Duluth, Minnesota
