Louis Papes

Lou Papes, along with his twin sister, Maryann, were the last of seven children raised in a devout Catholic home. Both were first educated by Adrian Dominicans. Then Lou was formed by Marianists in high school and the Jesuits in college; Maryann by Ursulines in both high school and college.

Lou was ordained for the Diocese of Cleveland in 1988 after twenty-four years as an English teacher, beginning his career teaching language arts to 110 sixth graders, then on to years of teaching high school English, and ending by teaching college freshman at the local community college.

He also spent nearly thirteen years preaching on behalf of the poor of Central America and the Caribbean. He now resides in Olmsted Township, Ohio, a suburb of Cleveland. Lou continues to preach locally and to lead parish missions, retreats as well as days of recollection

Committed to the theology and ecclesiology of Vatican II, Fr. Lou's enthusiasm for the church and its mission in the world permeates his presentations.
