Gail Rudd Entrekin is Editor of Canary, the online literary journal of the environment (canarylitmag.org), Poetry Editor of Hip Pocket Press, and Editor of several anthologies. She holds an M.A. from Ohio State University and has taught Creative Writing in California community colleges for 25 years. Her poems were finalists for the Pablo Neruda Prize, won the Women’s National Book Association Prize, and were runners up and finalists for several other awards. A recent widow, Gail was married for over 40 years to poet and novelist Charles Entrekin. The couple had five children and nine grandchildren between them. Katy, who is featured in these poems, is the healthy mother of five-year-old Matej and two-year-old Kaja. She and her tall man Mitja currently live with their kids in California, not far from Katy’s mom.
